Install the Flash extension

Takes about two minutes. Works in Chrome, Edge, and Brave. You'll load the downloaded folder once, then Flash lives in your browser on every YouTube video.

Step by step

  1. Download the extension

    Click Download the .zip above and save zeqlabs-flash.zip somewhere you can find it.

  2. Unzip the file

    Right-click zeqlabs-flash.zip → Extract All (Windows) or double-click it (Mac). You'll get a zeqlabs-flash folder with a manifest.json inside. Keep this folder — Chrome loads the extension from it.

  3. Open the extensions page

    Paste chrome://extensions into your address bar and press Enter. On Edge use edge://extensions, on Brave brave://extensions.

  4. Turn on Developer mode

    Flip the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner. This lets the browser load an unpacked extension from a folder.

  5. Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped zeqlabs-flash folder — the one that contains manifest.json directly.

  6. Pin it & open YouTube

    Click the puzzle-piece icon, pin Zeqlabs Flash, then open any YouTube video. The Flash panel appears right on the page.

Troubleshooting

“Manifest file is missing or unreadable”

You picked the wrong folder. Select the folder that contains manifest.json at its top level — not the folder above it.

The extension disappeared after a restart

Don't delete or move the unzipped folder after loading it. Put it somewhere permanent first, then load it.

How do I update it?

Download the new .zip, unzip over the old folder, then click the refresh icon on the Zeqlabs Flash card in chrome://extensions.
